Each week on “Caring About Seniors,” our hosts sit down with those who are hard at work in the community, making sure our elders are properly cared for. This week, Al Bagocius and Adrienne Houghton speak with Dr. Christine Cauffield from LSF Health Systems.
LSF Health Systems provides funding and oversight for a network of 62 Behavioral Healthcare organizations providing services to indigent, uninsured, or underinsured Floridians who live with mental health and/or substance use disorders. They are a non-profit, community-based organization, contracted by the Florida Department of Children and Families to manage and develop regional system of behavioral health care services.
Their responsibilities include assessing, planning, allocating and monitoring the use of state funds to meet the unique and specific behavioral health needs of each region. LSF Health Systems serve approximately 1.2 million Floridians throughout 23 counties in Northeast/North Central Florida.
